Great talent among students and year-round locals have emerged out of the Southern Tier, with dedicated organizers and players across the region’s hubs of Binghamton, Ithaca and Horseheads. 

While the regular events offered have changed names and hosts many times, the influx of new players from higher education and dedicated born and raised townies have kept the region active year after year. The current post-pandemic period remains exciting as new events continue to rise out of the ashes and as the area rebuilds its melee scene.

Always ready to travel, it’s not uncommon to see Southern Tier players take spots on power rankings throughout New York, even making national splashes through Jmook’s explosive 2022, solidifying the long-time hidden boss of Upstate NY as one of the best Melee players in the world.
